Rev. Shawn Tait, Senior Pastor

Hello, my name is Shawn Tait, I am honoured to serve at Sussex Baptist as the Senior Pastor. I am married to Diane and together we are blessed to be glorifying Christ in marriage.

In the Fall of 2011 God brought me to Sussex Baptist as the Youth and Family Pastor. I served for five years alongside our youth; this was an amazing journey as God worked in amazing ways. In the fall of 2016 God led the church to transition my role from the Youth and Family Pastor into the Senior Pastor.

I attended Crandall University where I received a Bachelors in Biblical Studies, and then followed that up with a Master of Divinity degree from Acadia Divinity College. It was such a blessing to attend these schools, and to spend these years being trained under phenomenal leadership that equipped me to serve God properly in ministry. I was further blessed to be ordained by the church in the Fall of 2017.

Some of my hobbies are: golfing, watching movies, going to the gym and spending time with family and friends. My life verse is Philippians 4:13, “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”

Kris Ullman, Youth and Local Outreach Director

Hello, my name is Kris Ullman, I have been blessed to serve at Sussex Baptist as the Pastor of Youth and Outreach. I am blessed to be newly married to Kenzi and we look forward to being the hands and feet of Sussex Baptist for many years to come.

In the Spring of 2017 God called me to Sussex Baptist. Since then, I have had the blessing of being able to serve, grow, learn and teach in all aspects of ministry with Shawn Tait, who has been a mentor to me. It has been exhilarating to see youth come to Christ, the church serving in the local community and a church body that is truly seeking Christ.

I am finishing up my Bachelors Degree at Kingswood University. Missions has been my focus in my degree and my life; leading me to places like Kazakhstan where I was able to serve in impactful ways for the Great Commission in spite of the danger. God has been so good, and I am excited to see where God is going to lead us here at Sussex Baptist in the coming years.

Ephesians 1:17-19 is our prayer for everyone at Sussex Baptist and beyond, “[17] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, [18] having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, [19] and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe”.
